Any self respecting PGA or iced tea fan knows of “The Arnold Palmer”. A drink he supposedly invented that contains equal parts sweet tea and lemonade. A very refreshing libation I might add, especially on those hot summer days. And if you are a fan of the PGA then you have obviously heard of Mr. John Daly’s rise and fall and rise and fall from grace. It seems that Mr. Daly enjoys a good stiff cocktail or even a few cases of beer now and again or so I’ve been told. Lo and behold I give thee “The John Daly”. Which is similar to Mr. Palmer’s concoction but with a nice bolt of vodka. I really don’t know if John would enjoy such a drink but you get the gimmick. You can use Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka, like we did here, or any brand or simply spike home made sweet tea with your favorite vodka.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 part Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka®
- 1 part fresh lemonade
- ice
- lemon slices for garnish
Mix, pour over ice and garnish with lemon. You could even make lemonade ice cubes if you wish. Happy summer!

Drank quite a few John Daly’s while in New Orleans a few months ago. Greatest drink ever for a steamy NOLA afternoon. Only downside: so tasty you can’t feel them going down until you try to get off a bar stool. Cheers!
alternative, but tried and true recipe:
2p firefly or other sweet tea vodka
1p stoli blueberry vodka
muddled lemons (the older the better- perfect for dive bars!)
shake it all up and splash with sprite.
makes an excellent (large) shot or cocktail!
I had a few of these this past weekend and woke up at a Hooters shirtless, screaming “I won the ’96 Brish Open”
Hmm interesting, I love sweet tea vodka.
YES! I fell in love with sweet tea vodka hte first time I tried it. Be careful though, these go down easy and sneak up on you if you know what I mean.
Sweet tea vodka! Woo Hoo!
