Super Quick Grilled Jerk Shrimp

This recipes is high on value because you get a great appetizer, really quick and with little effort. That is if you have my dry jerk seasoning pre-made and handy. Serve this with lime wedges, or lime butter (melted butter with a squeeze or two of lime juice, or for best result Pickapeppa Sauce.  I usually always have a pound or two of shrimp in the freezer and heaps of the season mixed up so I can bang these out in no time.


INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 – 2 pounds extra large shrimp (20 -25 count), peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons of my dry jerk seasoning found here
  • 2 – 3 limes
  • Pikapeppa Sauce


PREPARATION:

Mix the shrimp and the jerk seasoning and allow to marinate in the refrigerator for 15 – 30 minutes. Heat grill to medium high heat. Grill shrimp on skewers or like I do in a grill basket just until opaque turning only once. About 2 – 4 minutes per side depending on the size of the shrimp. Remember! It is very easy to over cook shrimp, so be careful to pull them off sooner than later. Serve immediately with Pickapeppa Sauce for dipping and lime wedges.

  3. Nice recipe. It works well too with shell-on shrimp. I find that if the shrimp are not going to be consumed hot-off-the-grill, then shell-on shrimp are much better. Also a little olive oil during the marinading process helps to spread the seasoning and prevent sticking while grilling.

  4. Well I guess I will have to just make the dry mix and put it on everything.
