The newest of my libation concoctions is similar to a dirty martini, but rather than the brine from the olive jar, I add a 1/2 ounce of my Black Mamba Sauce found here. It pairs with vodka to add a nice complex salty slash savory flavor. Black snake moan, black mamba sauce, get it? The name is also a reference to a song by the very late and so so great Blind Lemon Jefferson, not the recent movie starring Samuel Jackson and Christina Ricci. Never saw it. If you are not a real hardcore fan of blues music, you probably don’t know who he was. No matter if you like dirty martinis then you will probably enjoy a few Black Snake Moans. Just be careful because they bite.
INGREDIENTS:
To make Black Mamba Sauce (which is great on grilled beef also!)
- 2 cups Kikkoman’s light soy sauce
- 1 cup full bodied red wine
- 1/2 cup rice vinegar
- 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper
To make the cocktail
- 3 oz premium vodka
- 1/2 – 1 oz Black Mamba Sauce (start with 1/2 and add more if desired)
- 2 – 3 cubes of tofu
Vodka and sauce in a shaker full of ice. Pour and garnish with tofu.

I have a friend whose fixing to open a restaurant…this will come in handy. For me! Since I plan on spending a lot of time at the bar!
The Black Mamba Sauce sounds awesome, especially for the suggested grilled beef.

OMFG!! THis sounds fantastic and I’ve just given up alcohol for Lent, even though I’m not at all religious. I really need to get my printer fixed. Your blog alone may be the catalyst.
LoL! Savory cocktails do seem to be more popular these days. Check this out

that sauce looks great for beef… not so sure about in my martini (I’m more of a gin martini girl though anyway)
